Here is how our stained glass design process works.
You’ll start out with an in-home visit with a Custom Stained Glass Houston designer. Our designers are highly experienced in assisting customers to get the exact windows they want. They are also well versed in helping bring a specific project in on a budget. The designer will show you many photos of patterns we’ve already created, and help you pick what you want.
Your design will be sketched, your windows will be measured, and at this point, we take things to the next level. Using CAD technology, a computerized blueprint of your design is created. You can even see exactly what your new stained glass windows will look like via the magic of a computer rendering. You will approve the final design.
The next step in the stained glass design process happens when the materials arrive in our studio. Your project will be assigned to one highly-trained stained glass artisan. Custom Stained Glass Houston is part of the largest stained glass studio in the country, and we provide all our builders with special training in our proprietary methods.
The artisan assigned to your project will cut each piece of glass by hand, following the computer blueprint exactly. He or she will assemble the window one piece of glass at a time, joining the pieces together with the lead strips that give stained glass it’s characteristic look.
Once your window is finished, so is the stained glass design process. It’s polished and sent to your Houston home to be installed and enjoyed!
Many of our clients tell us the initial process, when they work together with the designer to pick the style, pattern, glass, and colors – if any – is the most fun part of the whole thing.
